Is AIR the right platform for photo management app?

i need build web-enabled photo management app following features:

  • server sign-in , authentication
  • photos fetched server via rest api/xml
  • tag, rate (i.e. 1-5 stars), , edit properties photos, data updated on or sync-ed server
  • ria ui goodies, multi-select, drag/drop, ajax-style auto-complete, overlay icons on thumbs,
  • all photo management goodies, fast scrolling, histograms, resizeable thumbnail
  • able handle 1000s of photos in 1 album (server on local lan)

one key issue how platform loads album 1000s of photos in background, , scrolls through pages of thumbnails. tried before build in java , threading issues me.


have experience cakephp & mysql , experience java, resigned learning new platform/libs. need know invest learning time.

 

can experienced users pipe in on whether air right platform me build on? should use javascript etc, or learn flex?

 

is there out there build on? i'm considering building on yahoo yui or google gwt alternative.

  • i'm not sure performance loading thousand pics photoshop gets huge in system memory when load 200 pics @ time, i'd rather load them @ runtime if server in lan wouldn't take time or i'd generate shadow copy on local user folder.

 

if know technology , keep on it, can switch flex if want learn new , it's tech great work with.

Arduino Uno not uploading

Indesign and MathType fonts

i having trouble getting indesign recognize mathtype fonts.  have been told move mathtype fonts on 2 indesign font folder.  copied mt-extra font file mathtype folder , pasted indesign font folder.  nothing changed.  indesign still gives me blank box after copy mt-extra font mathtype -->illustrator-->indesign.   guess need instructions on how transfer of fonts done correctly.  i'v looked @ install fonts manual indesign, not clear me on how it.  need utility fontexplorer this, or there other way.  what's weird working fine until had reinstall osx , reinstall cs3, font trouble started.  need toggle "activate-reactivate' adobe cs3 , don't know how close 20 max on this, worried that.  (i suspect because of note on forum might necessary).  thoughts appreciated. i'm using windows, advice may worth nothing...   1) shouldn't have deactivate id recognize fonts. 2) design science gives fonts away in type 1 , truetype flavors....
