Arduino as RTC itself

i thinking using atmega328p(arduino nano) real time clock.i don't care date, year , month, only hours, minutes , seconds.it using sim900 "refresh" it's time.is arduino capable of keeping time accurate 24 hours, with less 5 minutes of error.my plan sending sms every day @ 9pm.there no need running sim900 time,so arduino turns sim900 on mosfet @ 9pm,gets fresh time, sends sms needs send, and turns sim900 off.this way should have 12ah car battery lasting month instead of less 15 days.it should able stay accurate because 100% accurate time every day.sorry if i'm off topic i'm trying explain guys i'm trying do.any tips? ideas? can arduino running program other things,as sending sms,or blinking led?

.my plan sending sms every day @ 9pm.
in experience, you'd lucky keep 5 mins day accuracy... lucky.

if device can send , sms, receive one?  update time once day via sms?

you can use iftt bounce text time ingredient

just send text , 1 ifttt , wait 30 or seconds response... parse message time , sleep
