indesign export pdf font encoding ansi custom

after exporting indesign document pdf, wondering why fonts appear twice same different font encodings.

as example, font tntformbsk-light appears once font encoding ansi , second time font encoding custom.

the export done on macintosh indesign version 5.04.

also when preflight check heidelberg prinect tools, warning font using same font uid's.

when using bullet character, after exporting same font twice different font encodings, ansi , identity-h.

this known issue: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewcontent.do?externalid=329611&sliceid=1

i didn't found reason why indesign using same font encoding "ansi" , "custom" , same uids!

can explain these?

hi,

first off, ansi encoding can handle characters. if font has characters beyond encoding, , glyphs characters embedded in pdf (either because used characters, or because entire font embedded reason), indesign embed 2 fonts, 1 ansi encoding (for characters can covered way), , 1 custom encoding. you'll see cid-keyed fonts resulting sort of thing well.

if pdf export splitting font two, should remove uniqueid @ least 1 of those. embedding 2 distinct fonts same uniqueid looks bug me. suggest report adobe, here: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

regards,

thomas
