Thread: can't run update-manager : i get a red alert on desktop


i can't run or install application, there red alert on desktop telling "an orrur occurred, please run package manager rom right-click menu or apt-get in terminal see wrong"
, when click on red button, package manager run , message tells me following :


could not initialize package information

unresolvable problem occurred while initializing package information.

please report bug against 'update-manager' package , include following error message:

'e:type 'gpg' not known on line 55 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list, e:the list of sources not read.'




what should do, new on ubuntu

press alt+f2 load run command box, , paste in following:
code:
gksu gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
and run.

next, copy , paste entire file contents next post.
sure use [code][/code] tags.
