Need project guidance on temp-fan project


hi everyone,

i'm looking set system project of mine. had considered raspberry pi told better way go. can help?

as bit of brief background, i'm security systems engineer trade. have basic knowledge of scripting languages jcl java , learn scripting languages quickly. i'm familiar electronics, great soldering iron, , design , build speakers , crossover networks in spare time.

here goals project:
i need board can connect 2 temperature sensors to. in addition, need board able connect 1 relay. coding involve flipping relay when temperature deltas met. need print 4 values display; temperature optionally, interested in connecting 2 simple backlit vfd displays report temperatures.

the remaining peripheral connections, can figure out on own. need display recorded temperatures on remote screen, assume via hdmi.

what need with:
- hardware need? (i reviewed picture thread showing need order, more specific recommendations).
- how connect temp sensors , relay? plug them straight in , let coding rest?

you listed out quite already.
two temperature sensors (which 1 depends on things expected temperature range, required accuracy, expected reaction speed, environment), relay (depends on controls, how controlled, environment it's placed in, required speed), display (dimensions, letter size, environment, brightness, etc), microprocessor. budget may come play.
when have requirements specified, narrowing down suitable kit quite straightforward.
