Thread: Fglrx kernel module does not compile!

hai.
i've got toshiba satellite a300-20w notebook. damn toshiba's support linux not exist. >.>
ok. i'm trying install fglrx (i tried 9.12 , 9.8 ) drivers on ati mobility radeon hd 3470, kernel module fails compile. tried manually but... there's no makefile nor ./configure, make.sh produces output:
code:
[root@nucleon]:/var/lib/dkms/fglrx/8.681/build# ./make.sh amd kernel module generator version 2.1 doing makefile based build kernel 2.6.x , higher rm -rf *.c *.h *.o *.ko *.gcc* .??* *.symvers make -c /lib/modules/2.6.31-17-generic/build subdirs=/var/lib/dkms/fglrx/8.681/build/2.6.x modules make[1]: entering directory `/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.31-17-generic' make[1]: makefile: no such file or directory make[1]: *** no rule make target `makefile'. stop. make[1]: leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.31-17-generic' make: *** [kmod_build] error 2 build failed return value 2
also when i'm installing drivers self-made .deb package or downloading repo, see:
code:
loading new fglrx-8.681 dkms files... building initial module 2.6.31-17-generic, architecture -a x86_64 error! bad return status module build on kernel: 2.6.31-17-generic (x86_64) consult make.log in build directory /var/lib/dkms/fglrx/8.681/build/ more information. done. error! not locate fglrx.ko module fglrx in dkms tree. must run dkms build kernel 2.6.31-17-generic (x86_64) first. setting fglrx-modaliases (2:8.681-0ubuntu1) ... setting libamdxvba1 (2:8.681-0ubuntu1) ... setting xorg-driver-fglrx (2:8.681-0ubuntu1) ...
any ideas how can compile , add kernel module? ;o
strange, on ubuntu 9.04 x86 fglrx installing wothout problems. after upgrade 9.04 -> 9.10 x86 problem appeared. ;s

karmic koala amd64, kernel version: 2.6.31-17-generic.
