Illustrator CS3 Printing Incorrectly

hello,

i should first clarify not professional graphic artist/printer.  graduate student of architecture has epson r1800.  printing out of photoshop cs3 seems work fine , getting reasonable color representation (after setting proof, disabling os x color controls, etc).  if attempt out of illustrator (and indesign) poor quality prints.  in illustrator have proof set epson paper using , printer settings follows:

color management: illustrator determines colors

printer profile: spr1800 standard (right need black line drawings on regular paper)

rendering intent: relative colormetric

 

now, if change of print settings in illustrator, see no changes in print.  if attempt make changes "printer" window (after selecting file>print>printer), warning dialogue , still nothing seems change.  if export eps or pdf , print out of photoshop, excellent prints.  i'd cut out middle man (ps) , print straight illustrator opposed exporting numerous drawings , printing photoshop.

is color profiles same in cs3 suite?

are printing same color space cmyk, rgb?

how setting appearence of black in illustrator?

are try print artwork acrobat?

Arduino Uno not uploading

Indesign and MathType fonts

i having trouble getting indesign recognize mathtype fonts.  have been told move mathtype fonts on 2 indesign font folder.  copied mt-extra font file mathtype folder , pasted indesign font folder.  nothing changed.  indesign still gives me blank box after copy mt-extra font mathtype -->illustrator-->indesign.   guess need instructions on how transfer of fonts done correctly.  i'v looked @ install fonts manual indesign, not clear me on how it.  need utility fontexplorer this, or there other way.  what's weird working fine until had reinstall osx , reinstall cs3, font trouble started.  need toggle "activate-reactivate' adobe cs3 , don't know how close 20 max on this, worried that.  (i suspect because of note on forum might necessary).  thoughts appreciated. i'm using windows, advice may worth nothing...   1) shouldn't have deactivate id recognize fonts. 2) design science gives fonts away in type 1 , truetype flavors....
