anonymous access launchpad web service api
asked , we’ve delivered. launchpadlib scripts can read-only access launchpad web service api without going through authorization process. previously, authorize script, had open web page in end-user’s web browser , user click button. now, have go through process if want access someone’s private data or modify launchpad dataset on behalf.
if you’re using latest version of launchpadlib (1.5.4), can log in anonymously login_anonymously helper method. have pass in string identifying client, , name of launchpad server want access.
- from launchpadlib.launchpad import launchpad
- launchpad = launchpad.login_anonymously("my client", "edge")
- print launchpad.bugs[1].title
- # microsoft has majority market share'
(that code illustrates how latest version of launchpadlib lets specify short string “edge” instead of having importing constant edge_service_root.)
if you’re using older version of launchpadlib, can log in anonymously using login helper method. can anonymous access passing in empty strings token string , access secret:
- from launchpadlib.launchpad import launchpad, edge_service_root
