Captivate 4 - Audio magically plays from an external swf that is not being displayed yet.

hi -

i searched have not seen issue posted in forum yet - apologize if has been covered.

i have built 2 captivate files - mainfile , subfile. mainfile has 2 slides. first slide has click box pauses slide until learner clicks, in case advances slide 2.

slide 2 has animation object on displays subfile. subfile has audio on severa slides.

when previewed , when published , viewed locally, works expected; mainfile loads, slide 1 shown, , movie sits , waits me click clickbox continue. when click clickbox, navigate slide 2, displays subfile, , hear audio subfile , interact expected.

however, when post files webserver, here happens: mainfile loads, , after 10 seconds audio subfile starts playing, though still sitting on slide 1 of mainfile , subfile not displayed. not on slide displays subfile.

i have used architecture on many projects succesfully using captivate 3, issue new in captivate 4.

i have run lot of tests , troubelshooting ideas, , 1 thing found this: if subfile greater 1 mb, problem occurs. if subfile less 1 mb, problem not occur.

i have tried many solutions , workarounds, including using blank slide 1 in subfile , changing every publish setting in captivate.

any ideas?

regards,

chris

an update interested...

the problem seems related upload web server. if upload mainfile , subfile server @ same time, problem occurs. if upload mainfile first, subfile second, problem occurs. however, if upload subfile first, mainfile second, problem not occur.

i tried on different web servers, , holds true. tried using cuteftp , web folders (windows explorer) , holds true.

very strange, @ least can make issue stop. unclear on how time stamp interferes how swfs interact each other?

chris
