Conditioning hardware for tach input signal.
i'm trying put standalone instrument using arduino, motorsport use.
several setups in genre use simple ecu's (no can-bus), , carburated engines.
i want have tach input signal instrument, i'm not sure how design input signal conditioner, output 0-5v square wave signal arduino.
as far have found, ecu's or ignition controllers have either
- 0-5v square wave,
- 0-12v square wave,
- , grounding output coil negative (ignition coil act pullup 12v, rough spikes)
signal aftermarked tachometers can use trigger input.
does of have suggestion how put input circuit can handle types of signal, , feed arduino clean 0-5v square wave signal?

hi,
from post not clear if wish create 5v square wave any of mentioned inputs or if pick one.
