Why not frames?

every time subject of frams comes up, superhtml geeks "not idea!"

 

why?

 

i'm not disagreeing or trying argumentive have never actuually had explanation of why frames discouraged.

 

a few years sioux site, www.siouxme.com fraed based. 3 frames, logo across top, narrow vertical navigation  fraame on left , frame main window on reat of screen. mid nineties. best of knowledge, no 1 ever had issue them, did have noframes set of pages well.

 

i took site off line couple of years , when decided put online made lot of changes including using imagemap instead of framesets.

 

on vittles site have setup clicks on button , opens smaller widow picture, nutritional values, , pack weight of meal. first thought use frameset accomplish this, after observing lot of people who's opinions respect discourage using frames, did differently.

 

but.... curious bird nature , itching know problems using frames.

ever tried bookmark or print page on framed site?  unless you're experienced web geek, it's darned near impossible correctly 100% of time.  when people can't simplest things on site, you've lost them forever.  said, there rare exceptions when frames ok.  not entire site.

Indesign and MathType fonts

i having trouble getting indesign recognize mathtype fonts.  have been told move mathtype fonts on 2 indesign font folder.  copied mt-extra font file mathtype folder , pasted indesign font folder.  nothing changed.  indesign still gives me blank box after copy mt-extra font mathtype -->illustrator-->indesign.   guess need instructions on how transfer of fonts done correctly.  i'v looked @ install fonts manual indesign, not clear me on how it.  need utility fontexplorer this, or there other way.  what's weird working fine until had reinstall osx , reinstall cs3, font trouble started.  need toggle "activate-reactivate' adobe cs3 , don't know how close 20 max on this, worried that.  (i suspect because of note on forum might necessary).  thoughts appreciated. i'm using windows, advice may worth nothing...   1) shouldn't have deactivate id recognize fonts. 2) design science gives fonts away in type 1 , truetype flavors....
