Can I use a BPV11F instead of a TSOP382 IR receiver in this tutorial?

hello,

i'm following tutorial: https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/ir-communication

my problem have different kind of phototransistor, bpv11f. it's 3-pin doesn't want work in same configuration. no readings @ on serial monitor. possible bpv11f cannot used way?

the tsop382 has internal filter modulation frequency (38khz common remotes) while bpv11f doesn't seem have such filter (according datasheet). answer no.

a tsop38238 costs less $2 @ sparkfun, one.

tcp client

Can't read sms using Thinker A7 communicate with Arduino
